Tuition, Fees, & Scholarships

Bill Brown, who served the school for over thirty years as a Day School Committee member and chair along with his two children, Robin B. Davis and Curtis O. Brown, established this memorial scholarship in memory of his loving wife and their mother, Bobbi Brown.  As parents, Bill and Bobbi Brown supported the school with the attendance of their two children and later their grandchildren.  The purpose of the Bobbi Brown Memorial High School Scholarship will be to provide $3,000 scholarships to two rising seniors at Calvary Day School. 

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Rising high school seniors who demonstrate spiritual maturity, leadership qualities, and superior academic achievement will be eligible to apply for this scholarship. The recipients will be called Bobbi Brown Scholars.  

CONDITIONS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

The student recipients must have an overall “B” average and maintain that average during the academic year of the scholarship award. They must also demonstrate Christian leadership and maturity on the campus and in the community. 

APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIP 

Students wishing to be considered for this scholarship are required to complete this online application which includes a two-page paper outlining the value of a Christian education for their life and to their goals academically beyond high school.  In addition each applicant must contact their pastor to fill out a letter of reference and two teachers to fill out evaluation forms. Students must complete this form on or before Friday March 20, 2026.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The Head of School and the Upper School Leadership will make a decision based on the material provided by the students. The scholarship will be for one academic year.

The Bobbi Brown Memorial Scholarship is funded through individual designated gifts to the Bobbi Brown Memorial fund at Calvary Day School.

Harrison Vaughan was a proud student, athlete, teacher, and coach at Calvary Day School. Coach Vaughan lived his life with service to others as a key to his purpose, with pure joy as his guide. To celebrate his legacy and impact on Calvary, his family established the Harrison Vaughan Memorial Scholarship to share his passion for all things Calvary. Annually, a $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a rising senior at Calvary Day School.

ELIGIBILITY

The scholarship will be awarded annually to one rising 12th grade student at Calvary Day School that embodies the traits that Harrison Vaughan embraced during his service to Calvary. An individual with high character and integrity, consistently demonstrating honesty and ethical behavior, earning the trust and respect of those around them. Someone passionate about school community impact, embodying the Cougar spirit, partnering with students, teachers, and staff. A student with focused academic performance, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to knowledge. All of this with Christ at the center. Coach Vaughan would write after becoming Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Calvary, “Lord, bless me and help me lead these young men in your image.”

APPLICATION

Students wishing to be considered for this scholarship are asked to submit an application, including the names of a member of the Calvary Day School staff (teacher, administrator, coach), and a non-family member outside Calvary whom the student will contact for a recommendation prior to submitting this form. Students must complete the following form on or before Friday, March 20, 2026. Finalists will be notified and participate in an online interview with the selection committee sometime between Monday, April 6 and Friday, April 10, 2026.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The Harrison Vaughan Memorial Scholarship selection committee, comprised of Coach Vaughan’s family, will make a final decision based on the material submitted and final interviews. The scholarship will be awarded during Awards Day at Calvary and be for one academic year.

APPLICATION FEE
An Application Fee of $110 is due at the time an application is submitted for all prospective students. An Enrollment Fee of $60 will be paid once enrollment is offered. These fees are not refundable.

REGISTRATION FEE
Returning students pay a Registration Fee of $140, which will hold a student’s place for the next school year. This fee is non‐refundable.

Tuition and curriculum fees do not include costs for optional services and activities such as:

PAYMENT PLANS

Calvary Day School uses myCDS (FACTS) Payment Plans.  They are a leading provider of tuition management, providing 24/7 service and mobile-friendly payment options.

Tuition may be paid in full or in monthly installments (June 2026 - May 2027) via automatic draft.  Once enrollment has been accepted, your myCDS (FACTS) account will be charged 10% of the standard tuition rate as a down payment which will be subtracted from the tuition balance.  The remaining balance (minus the down payment) will be drafted monthly from June to May.

TUITION ASSISTANCE

Calvary Day School does offer Tuition Assistance for families who meet certain criteria through Variable Tuition and Scholarship Opportunities. More information on Variable Tuition and Scholarships are found below.

How to Apply

The general process for applying for Variable Tuition (VT) is as follows:

1. New parents must fill out an application for admission to Calvary Day School before the VT application. 
2. New and returning parents must fill out and submit a separate variable tuition application with a 3rd party company called myCDS (FACTS) Financial Aid Management, to be eligible in the 2026-2027 school year. 
3. Please go to the FACTS WEBSITE to obtain this application.  Scroll to the section entitled Apply for Financial Aid with FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment and click the APPLY NOW button.
4. Complete all paperwork. Once W-2’s are received and taxes have been filed, upload documents to the VT application on FACTS to complete the process. 
5. All applicants submitting an application to Variable Tuition must also complete an application for the NC Opportunity Scholarship.

Great News!

The NC Opportunity Scholarship Program provides K-12 students the opportunity to receive money from the State to help pay for their tuition, regardless of financial income.  The OSP was first established in 2014 and we currently have 720 CDS students who receive funding.  Click on the link above to learn more about the program and to create a MyPortal account.  Once the OSP application portal opens for the 2026-2027 school year, submit an application for each of your students.
