A New School Year: Making an IMPACT

What kind of impact will you make?

That was the challenge presented to Upper School students as Calvary Day School gathered for its first chapel of the 2026-2027 school year.

Head of School Mr. Hardee introduced this year’s school theme, IMPACT, and shared the words of 1 Timothy 4:12:

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

Mr. Hardee encouraged students to understand that making an impact isn’t something reserved for the future. They have the opportunity to make a difference right now through the way they speak, the choices they make, the way they treat others, and how they live out their faith.

Every student has influence, and every day brings opportunities to use that influence to point others toward Christ.

Whether it is encouraging a classmate, welcoming someone new, helping a teammate, serving another person, standing up for what is right, or simply choosing words that build others up, seemingly small moments can leave a lasting impact.

As students begin another year of learning, athletics, fine arts, friendships, service, and new experiences, the theme of IMPACT will serve as a reminder that their words, actions, and example matter.

They don’t have to wait until someday to make a difference.
